How to Make a Mixed Media Pop-Open Journal
Recycle a lid from a wet wipes package and find out how to make a Mixed Media Pop-Open Journal for Heidi Borchers. The unexpected cover will make this piece a true standout. Record your dreams, thoughts and feelings in this journal - you'll love showing it off.
Remove the lid from a package of wet wipes and spray paint the surface if you want. Glue the pop-up top to the front of a journal and allow it to dry. Cover the entire surface in decoupage glue and begin adhering small pieces of tissue paper. You can also add embellishments during this stage. Punch or cut paper to fit inside your journal and insert them into the piece using a needle and thread. You can add beads at the end of the cording for a fun touch.
