How to Paint an Anchor Canvas Tote
Turn a plain tote into a trendy DIY project with a little bit of paint. Crafts to make and wear will help you save money and upcycle old objects. Learn how to paint an Anchor Canvas Tote from Savannah Starr and carry it with you to the pool or beach.
You can trace an anchor pattern or sketch one yourself on a piece of freezer paper. When the anchor is cut out, create stripes on the tote using blue low-mask tape. Begin applying fabric paint to the entire bag using a cosmetic sponge that is not over-saturated. When the paint is dry, peel off the tape to reveal the stripes. Iron the freezer paper onto the tote and cover the inside of the anchor with your second fabric paint color. You can create an outline around the anchor using a fabric marker.
