Rebecca Brown

I created ChemKnits in 2008 to combine my love for knitting and science.  I earned my PhD in Biological Chemistry in early 2011, and designing knitting patterns for ChemKnits kept me sane during the graduate school years.  After earning my degree, I expanded my writing activities to two new blogs, Knitting Project of the Day and ChemEats, a cooking blog.  I cannot knit in silence so I spend a lot of time watching TV shows, especially Friends and The Office.  I love dying my own yarn, and can often be found in my kitchen playing experimenting with different ways to color wool.  I would love to learn how to spin someday so I can explore different hand dyed colorways even further.  When I am not knitting, I enjoy walking around the city and playing with my friends' dogs.
