Sharpie Spin Art
With a battery operated Spin Art machine and some colored Sharpie markers, you can create beautiful artwork on paper or fabric. This Sharpie Spin Art from Lynda Heines would look lovely on a tee shirt or canvas, and would also make a beautiful paper decoration for a scrapbook or greeting card. If you don't have a Spin Art machine, you should be able to find one in the toy section of your local toy store or online.
Materials:
- Spinart machine. These can be purchased in the toy section or online. Make sure you buy one that is battery operated.
- Fabric cut in 6 x 6 inch squares or paper 5.5 x 5.5 inches
- Sharpie Large Chisel Tip Markers
- Spray bottle with alcohol
- Tacky repositionable glue – I used Liquid Sticky Note
Instructions:
-
Place tacky glue in the center of the bottom of machine to hold fabric (paper) in place.
-
Place fabric (paper) centered in machine and smooth it down over tacky glue.
-
Turn on machine.
-
Touch spinning fabric (paper) with Sharpie. Continue coloring until you are happy with your design.
-
Turn off machine and check. If you want to add more color, turn it back on and add more.
-
Turn off machine.
-
Spritz fabric (paper) with the alcohol. The more you spray, the more the colors will bleed together.
- When dry, heat set with an iron and then it’s ready for your next project. (You don’t need to iron the paper!)
