Green Valley Leaf Motif Scarf
Green Valley Leaf Motif Scarf should be a delightful challenge for the experienced crocheter to tackle. It's a crochet scarf pattern full of pretty little embellishments that make it perfect to wear on a fancy night out. Materials:
- 2 skeins Naturally Caron Spa yarn in Rose Bisque
- US H-8 (5 mm) crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge
- Yarn needle
Gauge: In pattern stitch, 1 leaf = approx 2 1/4"/5.5cm wide (at widest point) and approx 3 3/4"/9.5cm long (at longest point).
Special Terms:
- dc2tog: Double crochet 2 together—[Yarn over, insert hook in next st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops] twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
- picot: Ch 4, slip stitch in 4th chain from hook.
- qdtr: Quadruple treble crochet (qdtr)—(Yarn over) 5 times, insert hook in indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, [yarn over and draw through two loops] six times.
- trtr: Triple treble crochet (trtr)—(Yarn over) 4 times, insert hook in indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, [yarn over and draw through two loops on hook] five times.
Notes:
- Scarf is worked with 2 full leaves and 2 half-leaves across.
- Leaf-spines are worked in odd–numbered rows. The leaves are then shaped in even-numbered rows by working stitches up one side of a spine and down the other side.
- Leaves are joined in odd-numbered rows with dc2tog between leaves.
