Loop Scarf with Fringe

To keep warm this winter, why not try a homemade scarf? Use this free crochet pattern to make a lovely loop scarf with fringe and everyone will be begging you to make one for them too!

Materials

K crochet hook OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Caron International’s Glimmer #0005 Red: 4 skeins

Instructions:

GAUGE
10 sts & 6 rows of pat st = 4”

Chain 26
Row 1: Turn. Ch 3. Work 3 dc in 4th ch from hook, skip next ch 1 sp, dc in next ch 1 space, *skip next ch, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, skip next ch 1 sp, dc in next ch sp.* Rep bet *’s across.
Row 2: Turn. Ch 1. Sc in each dc across.
Repeat rows 1 & 2 until scarf measures 54” long, ending with Row 1 but do not break off.

FRINGE
Ch 14. Slip st to second to last dc on last row.* Repeat between *’s across row: 13 fringes made. Repeat for opposite end of scarf.

It's a pretty scarf, but these instructions cannot be correct. You try to follow this pattern and it looks nothing like the pic, and it's just strange. Wish whoever put this up would give better instructions! Thanks!

Hi there! I tried to find more information about this pattern on the Caron/Yarnspirations website but it looks like the pattern isn't available anymore except here. Hopefully some of the comments below help with troubleshooting! I apologize for the inconvenience.

I completed the scarf, but having difficulty with the fringe. Please help me with it. Do you loop the chain 14 ??? and if so to where it began?? Please help. Having difficulty in following instructions for the fringe. After ch 14 do you bring up to the starting stitch??? and then slip stitch? Hard to understand, please help. Thank you

I figured this out, but the instructions are unclear and I fail to see anything "loopy" in this pattern. Row 1 instructions call for ch sps...? There are only chains, no spaces. Row 2 doesn't call for ch sps either. If pattern repeats rows 1 & 2 then there must be ch sps in row 2 instructions for it to work.
