Lace Lattic Wrap

Materials:

  • Yarn: Caron International's Simply Soft Paints (100% acrylic; 4 oz/133 g, 200 yds/182 m skein): #0007 Rose Garden (MC), 4 skeins
  • Yarn 2: Caron International's Simply Soft  (100% acrylic; 6 oz/170 g, 315 yds/288 m skein): #9721 Victorian Rose (CC), 1 skein
  • Hook: One US size J-10 (6 mm) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle

Finished Size: Wrap measures approximately 24"/61 cm wide by 65"/165 cm

Gauge: In single crochet, using US size J-10 (6mm) hook, 10 sts and 12 rows = 4"/10 cm

Stitches Used:
Chain (ch)
Double crochet (dc)
Single crochet (sc)
Slip stitch (slip st)
Treble crochet (tr)

Tips:

  • Chain loosely or use a larger hook (US size K-10.5 (10.5 mm)) to work the foundation chain.
  • To make a narrower wrap, chain 62 to begin. This will create a wrap about 20"/51cm wide.

Somehow I feel that the colors in this yarn are probably much more beautiful than pictured. It is really a beautiful pattern. The stitches have created a wonderful textural look. What a wonderful gift to your mom or sister, made with love from your own two hands. These are the gifts I love to give the most.

Absolutely beautiful. I made this as shown, and again with another darker ombre yarn. I had to make myself a chart at first, but once I understood the pattern, it was easy. When I made it the second time, it was so fast. I'm going to make it again in a neutral single color. I think if someone could chart this pattern, anyone could do it. They are for my mom, and depending on how she stretches it out or keeps it together, it can go from winter to cool air conditioning in the summer.

I love this pattern. I am almost done and love the result. It was confusing at first but after doing the repeat a couple of times you get the logic and dont even look at the pattern anymore. Cant wait to give it to my mother-in-law. Thank you!

Can you tell me how many multiples it takes for pattern? I would like some helpful tips for adapting this into a scarf.

The easiest way to make a scarf from this pattern is to use a lighter weight yarn, such as a sock yarn, and a correspondingly smaller cr. hook.

The simplest way to make a scarf out of this pattern would be to use a finer (smaller gauge) yarn, and a proportionately smaller cr. hook. This pattern is for fairly heavy yarn, so that if you go to a sock yarn, it should come out quite a bit narrower; then you may need to make more rows.

I have been crochetinf for a number of yrs.., but somtimes the simplest things stump me. I want to do this for my sister b;day.......please help thanks again.

I am having trouble with row 9: Row 8 endedsc in last 2 stitches. turn says to ch 1 Sc in first 3 SC(ends with 2)sc in next ch9 which makes 3 sc ch 7 skip 4 skip next sc,sk next sc skip 4 chs.. I ended up with 5 sc ,ch 5 and ended with sc in last 2 st. doesn't come out right on row 9. Can you help? thank you

i really love it:D and grows fast

Yeah, I figured out the instructions for Row 2. I made a mistake in row one and there you go. Still don't get the -6 ch-7sp though.

6 ch-7-sp is just letting you know that in the row you've just crocheted you should have 6-chain 7 spaces. That way you can check your work before you go to the next row.

I made the same mistake in row 9, except it was row 8 that I messed up on. Forgot to sc in the last ch before the last 2 sc.

It doesn't say to sc in the last ch though at the end of row 8.

I have only done row 1 and I'm already stumped. I hope someone can help. First of all at the end of row 1 what does -6 ch-7sp mean? Row 2 I get as far as sc in first 3, ch 5 and can't figure out the rest of the directions. Judy K.

at the end, they are giving you a way to check your work. You should have 6 of the chain 7 patterns by the end of row 1. row one is telling you to chain 7 stiches, then do single crochet again into the 8th chain. (skip 7 chains) whenever you see skip, it's telling you that you are making a loop instead of working into the row before. Hope that helps. This pattern does say that it is more advanced. It's not a beginner piece.

Caron International's Simply Soft Paints (100% acrylic; 4 oz/133 g, 200 yds/182 m skein): Caron International's Simply Soft Paints (100% acrylic; 4 oz/133 g, 200 yds/182 m skein): #0007 Rose Garden (MC), #0007 Rose Garden (MC), 4 skeins on the list at the top of the article. Use this one throughout including the foundation chain. The other color is for the edging only and is used all around the wrap. Pivot simply means to go forward along the long side, in this case, and pivot again to work on the foundation row, then the opposite long side, etc., to complete the edging. (I hadn't seen pivot used either for crochet, but that is what the author is talking about. Good luck! It is a beautiful wrap.)

MC = main color or in this case the multi color Found under Materials: end of second row (MC), 4 skein

I love this wrap but I am somewhat confused when and where you use the two different color yarn. At the top of the instructions it instructs you to use MC, MC does not match either yarns. Anyone have a clue?

I think the "pivot" instruction just means to "turn" the work.

I'm working on the Lace Lattice Wrap and there is a section in the instructions that I don't understand. The instructions for finishing requires "pivot". I have exhausted my research to find out what "pivot" means. Please, please, can anyone explain it to me? Maybe there is a video or a site that I'm not aware of that explains this stitch. I would greatly appreciate any and all advice and/or help in this matter. Thanking you in advance, Cheryl

i'm excitedout getting to this one.
