Decide position for next heart, tie another knot for base of heart, thread heart onto ribbon. Tie an overhand knot 1” from end of each ribbon. Repeat for each grouping.
Cut two 1 yard lengths of ribbon. Fold in half and knot together, about 2” from fold for a hanging loop.
Open embroidery hoop. Arrange strings of hearts, evenly spaced around hoop. Close embroidery hoop over ends of ribbons. Tie ends of hanging ribbons, evenly spaced around hoop. Wrap remaining ribbon around embroidery hoop in a candy cane stripe as pictured. Tie ends to secure. Trim ends.

This is a beautiful decoration for a nursery. I like that it is safer than many mobiles I have seen with it's soft components. The pretty hearts and ribbons will look nice as a decoration not only in a baby's room but children and teenagers may like it too according to the colors. I know I would have loved it as a teen.

What a neat idea for a mobile to hang over the crib or changing table as a distraction. The Red Heart Soft is one of my favorite all-purpose yarns. I think the colors come off different in a picture- the colors are more vibrant in person. Using an embroidery hoop is ingenious. A nice baby shower gift idea!
