Roses Baby Blanket
This precious baby blanket crochet pattern from Patons features a rosette motif in light pastel colors. Give this baby blanket as a shower gift or to welcome the newest member of the family.
Materials:
- Yarn: Patons Astra (50 g/1.75 oz)
7 balls of 02751 (White) - MC,
2 balls of 02755 (Blue Aqua) - A,
2 balls of 02753 (Sky) - B,
1 ball each of 02752 (Baby Pink) - C, 02936 (Pale Lavender) -D and 02759 (Baby Yellow) - E.
- Crochet Hook: Size 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain tension.
Size: Approx 34 x 41½ ins [86.5 x 105.5 cm].
Gauge: One motif = 3¾ ins [9.5 cm] square.
Instructions:
Motif A (make 20)
With A, ch 4. Join with sl st to form a ring.
1st rnd: Ch 1. Work 10 sc in ring. Join with sl st to first sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in same sc as last sl st. 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. 20 sc.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in same sp as last sl st. 1 sc in next sc. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 30 sc.
4th rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in same sp as last sl st. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. *2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 40 sc. Fasten off A.
5th rnd: Join MC with sl st in back loop of any sc. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. Working in back loop only of each sc, work 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc.
6th rnd: Ch 4 (counts as hdc and ch 2). 1 hdc in same sp as last sl st. *1 hdc in each of next 3 sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. 1 hdc in each of next 3 sc.** (1 hdc. Ch 2. 1 hdc) in next sc (corner). Rep from * twice more, then from * to ** once. Sl st in 2nd ch of ch 4. Fasten off.
Motif B (make 19)
Work as given for Motif A, substituting B for A.
Motif C (make 20)
Work as given for Motif A, substituting C for A.
Motif D (make 20)
Work as given for Motif A, substituting D for A.
Motif E (make 20)
Work as given for Motif A, substituting E for A.
FINISHING
Following diagram, sew Motifs tog.
Edging: 1st rnd: With RS of Blanket facing, join A with sl st in top right corner ch-2 sp. Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. (Work in sc evenly across st to next corner ch-2 sp. 3 sc in next corner ch-2 sp) 3 times. Work in sc evenly across to end of rnd. 2 sc in corner ch-2 sp. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
2nd rnd: Join B with sl st to back loop of same sc as last sl st. Working in back loop only of each sc, work 1 sc in each sc around, having 3 sc in corner sc. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

I think you need to tell a little better about how to put the blocks together. You say with RS of Blanket facing, join A with a sl st to top right corner ch-2 sp. Join to be with a ch-2 s. Being a beginner and being a computer programmer. I do know that when I right a manual for a program that I have written that I try to make it so that you have to go step by step. It needs to be as simple as possible so that even a child can do it. That is just a suggestion. You have to realize that some people have more trouble with some of the simplest things in life. I am one of those people.
