Chef, Nurse, Paper Boy, Mom Ornaments

Chef Ornament

Materials:

STYROFOAM Brand Products:
- Balls, 3" and 1-1/2"
Sock, pale pink
Toothpick
Dental floss
Needle
Felt: 1/4 yd. sage green; small amount black and white
Polyfil, small amount
Lace, 1/2" x 12"
Ribbon, 1/4" x 15"
Gold cord, 10"
Acrylic craft paint, black
Powdered blush
Doll's hair, curly jute or your choice
Miniature cooking utensils
Paintbrush
Thick, white craft glue or low temperature glue gun and glue sticks

Steps:

Place 1-1/2" ball in toe of sock; pull sock tightly around ball and wrap with dental floss; tie to secure. Cut off excess sock.
Sew together short ends of 4-1/2" x 11" strip of green felt; turn right side out. Slip tube over 3" ball; using dental floss, sew a running stitch around top and bottom of felt tube. Pull ends tightly; tie to secure.
Insert toothpick halfway into neck of body; add glue, and attach head.
Cut four legs/shoes from black felt; sew two halves together, creating two shoes. Turn right side out and stuff with poyfill. Sew on laces using dental floss. Glue shoes to bottom of body.
Cut four arms from scrap of pink sock; sew two halves together, creating two arms. Turn right side out and stuff with polyfil. Glue strip of green felt around arms for sleeves. Glue arms to body.
Finish face: Glue on hair. Paint on eyes. Make a nose from a tiny piece of sock fabric; glue in place. Blush cheeks.
Cut apron from white felt; glue to body. Glue white ribbon around body for apron strings.
Glue lace trim around collar, cuffs and shoes.
Cut crown and hatband from white felt for chef's toque. Glue together ends of hatband. Sew a running stitch around edge of crown; gather slightly and glue to inside of hatband. Glue hat to head.
Glue cooking utensils to hands.
Thread gold cord through needle; add hanger to hat.

Nurse Ornament

Materials:

STYROFOAM Brand Products:
- Balls, 3" and 1-1/2"
Sock, pale pink
Toothpicks, two
Dental floss
Needle
Felt: 1/4 yd. white; small amount black and red
Polyfil, small amount
Foam sheet, white
Gold cord, 10"
Red cord, 6"
Acrylic craft paint: black, red, white
Powdered blush
Doll's hair, curly jute or your choice
Small bead (to fit on end of toothpick)
Paintbrush
Thick, white craft glue or low temperature glue gun and glue sticks

Cut collar and hat from foam sheet; glue hat to head and collar around neck.
Tie bow in red cord; glue to front of collar.
Cut two small red crosses from felt; glue to hat and front of body.
Glue small bead to end of toothpick and cut to 1". Paint bead and lower half of thermometer red and remaining thermometer white. Glue to hand.
Thread gold cord through needle; add hanger.

Paper Boy Ornament

Materials:

- Balls, 3" and 1-1/2"
Sock, pale pink
Toothpicks
Dental floss
Needle
Felt: 1/4 yd. butterscotch; small amount black, brown, and pink
Polyfil, small amount
Foam sheet, white
Fabric, red and white striped, small amount
Gold cord, 10"
Ribbon, 3/8" x 3", black
Acrylic craft paint: black
Belt buckle, 3/8" (optional)
Powdered blush
Doll's hair, curly black chenille
Paintbrush
Thick, white craft glue or low temperature glue gun and glue sticks

Finish face: Cut small ears from pink felt; glue to head. Glue hair on head. Paint on eyes. Make a nose from a tiny piece of sock fabric; glue in place. Blush cheeks.
Cut strap and bag from brown felt; assemble and glue to shoulder.
Cut cap crown and brim from brown felt. Sew a running stitch around edge of crown; pull thread, gathering cap, and glue to head. Glue brim to front of cap.
Cut collar and cuffs from foam sheet; glue collar around neck and cuffs around ends of sleeves.
Tie a knot in center of 3" black ribbon; fold in half, with knot at top. Glue tie to collar.
Glue 3/8" strip of black felt around body for belt; add buckle (optional).
Glue 1" strip of striped fabric around legs for socks.
Cut four 2" wide strips of newspaper; roll and glue, forming four mini newspapers. Glue one newspaper to hand; glue three in bag.
Thread gold cord through needle; add hanger.

"I'm a Mom" Ornament

Materials:

- Balls, 3" and 1-1/2"
Sock, pale pink
Toothpick
Dental floss
Needle
Felt: 1/4 yd. rose; small amount black and white
Polyfil, small amount
Lace, 1/2" x 15"
Ribbon, 1/3" x 6"
Gold cord, 10"
Acrylic craft paint, black
Powdered blush
Doll's hair, curly jute or your choice
Small gold safety pins, six
Paintbrush
Thick, white craft glue or low temperature glue gun and glue sticks

Steps:

Place 1-1/2" ball in toe of sock; pull sock tightly around ball and wrap with dental floss; tie to secure. Cut off excess sock.
Sew together short ends of 4-1/2" x 11" strip of rose felt; turn right side out. Slip tube over 3" ball; using dental floss, sew a running stitch around top and bottom of felt tube. Pull ends tightly; tie to secure.
Insert toothpick halfway into neck of body; add glue, and attach head.
Cut four legs/shoes from black felt; sew two halves together, creating two shoes. Turn right side out and stuff with poyfill. Sew on laces using dental floss. Glue shoes to bottom of body.
Cut four arms from scrap of pink sock; sew two halves together, creating two arms. Turn right side out and stuff with polyfil. Glue strip of rose felt around arms for sleeves. Glue arms to body.
Finish face: Glue hair on head. Glue together a small bunch of curls; tie ribbon around ends and glue to top of head for ponytail. Paint on eyes. Make a nose from a tiny piece of sock fabric; glue in place. Blush cheeks.
Pin five safety pins to front of body.
Glue lace trim around collar, cuffs and shoes.
Make baby: Tightly wrap 1" ball in piece of pink sock fabric; pull sock tightly around ball and secure with dental floss. Paint on eyes; blush cheeks. Glue lace around baby's head for bonnet. Glue tiny piece of doll's hair to baby's forehead, peeking out of bonnet. Glue head to corner of 3" x 3" piece of white felt. Place a small amount of polyfil in blanket and then wrap felt around baby like a bunting; secure with safety pin. Glue baby to mother's arm.
