Am crocheting 4th of July hat. Am unable to locate tennis string or holding wire. Is there another name for this item? Could not make the 7 stars fit so made them a little smaller still cannot make them fit. Was there a correction to the pattern I am not aware of? I am 83 years old and this is one pattern that has made my blood pressure rise. I will improvise with the stars but the wire is posing a problem for me. HELP please.

Hi mjc - go to a sporting goods store and they'll have the string that one restrings tennic rackets with, that is what you're looking for. Also you might check with a flower shop and get some of their floral wire that would probably work, if you get a piece that is long enough. Hope this helps you. Another Sr. citizen!
