Tangerine Cardigan

Seed stitch (multiple of 2 + 1): Row 1: K1, *p1, k1, rep from * across. Rep Row 1 for Seed st.
Back
- Using smaller needles CO 85 (93, 101, 109, 117) sts. Work in Seed st for 1 ½”, ending with a WS row. Change to larger needles and St st. Work even until piece measures 5" from beg, ending with a WS row.
Shape Sides
- Dec 1 st each side of next row, then every 12 rows 3 times—77 (85, 93, 101, 109) sts. Work even until piece measures 14 ½ (14 ¼, 14, 13-3/4, 13 ½)" from beg, ending with a WS row.
Shape Armholes
- BO 4 (4, 5, 6, 7) sts at beg of next 2 rows— 69 (77, 83, 89, 95) sts. Dec 1 st each side every other row 4 (5, 6, 8, 10) times— 61 (67, 71, 73, 75) sts. Work even until armholes measure 8 (8 ½, 9, 9 ½, 10)" from beg of shaping, ending with a WS row.
Shape Shoulders and Neck
- BO 5 (6, 6, 6, 7) sts at beg of next 2 rows, 6 (6, 7, 7, 7) sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 6 (7, 7, 7, 7) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Place rem 27 (29, 31, 33, 33) sts on holder for Back neck.
Left Front
- Using smaller needles, CO 45 (49, 53, 57, 63) sts. Work in Seed st for 1 ½”, ending with WS row. Change to larger needles.
- (RS) K38 (42, 46, 50, 56) sts, pm, work rem 7 sts in Seed st. Keeping 7 Front edge sts in Seed st and rem sts in St st for patt, work until piece meas 5" from beg, ending with a WS row.
Shape Sides
- Maintaining patt, dec 1 st at side edge on next row, then every 12 rows 3 times—41 (45, 49, 53, 59) sts. Work even as est until piece measures 14 ½ (14 ¼, 14, 13 ¾, 13 ½)" from beg, ending with a WS row.
Shape Armholes

Shape Shoulder
- BO at beg of every RS row 5 (6, 6, 6, 7) sts once, 6 (6, 7, 7, 7) sts once, then 6 (7, 7, 7, 7) sts once.
Right Front
- Using smaller needles, CO 45 (49, 53, 57, 63) sts. Work in Seed st for 1 ½”, ending with WS row. Change to larger needles.
- (RS) Work first 7 sts in Seed st, pm, knit to end. Keeping 7 Front edge sts in Seed st and rem sts in St st, work as for Left Front until piece meas 2 (2 ½, 3, 3 ½, 4)" from beg of armhole shaping, reversing shaping and ending with WS row.
- Buttonhole row (RS) K1, p1, k1, BO next 2 sts, p1, k1; knit to end.
- (WS) Purl to marker, k1, p1, CO 2 sts, k1, p1, k1.
- Complete as for Left Front, rev all shaping.
Sleeves
- Using smaller needles, CO 43 (45, 47, 49, 51) sts. Work even in Seed st for 2", ending with WS row. Change to larger needles and St st. Work even for 4 rows.

Shape Cap

Finishing
- Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams. Set in Sleeves; sew Sleeve and side seams.
Neckband
- With RS facing, using circular needles and beg on Right Front holder, k1, p1, k1, BO 2, p1, k1, then pick up and k21 (21, 23, 23, 25) sts up right neck edge, k across 27 (29, 31, 33, 33) sts from back neck holder, pick up and k21 (21, 23, 23, 25) sts down left neck edge, work in Seed st across 7 sts from left front neck holder—83 (85, 91, 93, 97) sts.
- (WS) Work in Seed st on all sts and CO 2 sts over 2 BO sts of previous row.
- Work in Seed st for 4 rows.
- BO all sts in patt.
- Sew buttons opposite buttonholes.
- Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
