I would suggest you measure yourself or the person you are knitting for. around the upper arms so you can adjust the pattern to fit. I'm a plus-size and had to undo and add rows for the shawl to fit. I do love it though. It stays put and no slipping off your arms/shoulders.

I'm from the UK and I liked the look of the above and wanted to knit one for my daughter. I've tried two different types of wool for this Moebius. Firstly in 2 ply wool after discussion with staff there, we both agreed the pictures looks like think wool used - but it didn't look right. Then went back to shop and got the chunky because of the size of the needles ... looks worse. Today I tried a different shop who said American patterns are very misleading!!! Seems that way, can anyone advise me as to what wool was used for this garment? 2-ply, 4-ply, chunky?!! Thanks. HELP

I saw all of these comments today, so I went and grabbed a ball of Dazzleaire out of my stash to provide the exact details of this yarn- Caron Dazzleaire is 4ply, 80% acrylic & 20% nylon. The knitting gauge is 4 stitches and 6 rows per inch on size 8 needles. Making disparaging comments on here about american patterns probably won't get you much help. It is a 56 stitch cast on. For future reference most Caron brand yarns are acrylic not wool or natural fibers. I know its late, but hope it helps. happy knitting!

This pattern seems easy, but can someone explain to me why they have something under pattern stitch that is different then the rectangle? Also, it doesn't tell you how many stitches to cast on for the pattern stitch. Does this mean it is optional to do it that way or the way set up under where it says rectangle? I'm confused.

Knitting Fiend It says CO 58 st. The real pattern is under the rectangle.

Caron's website http://www.caron.com/yarn_classif.html may have a link that you can ask them directly for substitution help. Good luck.
