I've made 2 of these so far. 1 for my mother, and 1 with baby weight yarn for granddaughter. So quick and easy. I couldn't get the gauge to match, so I just kept repeating the pattern until it was big enough. I just did the pattern until it looked the right size for my granddaughter. The both came out just like the picture. I'm working on the 3rd now with a completely different weight of yarn. This one will be for my daughter-in-law. :)

I gotta be reading the directions incorrectly, or something.I've got the correct gauge, and on row 3 - there are 2 sts inc - one at the beginning of the row, and one at the end. When I hit 30", I'm only 20" wide. I've knit - ripped - reknit - ripped... I finally kept going to 38" or so, and I've got 28" width. I give up!!! guess it will work for a kid. Help....mary jane

I've encountered this issue many times it could be one of several things you achieve gauge when you swatch but you lose the gauge as you are knitting it happens everyone knits to a unique tension The other issue could be the yarn you used if you are not using the exact yarn that the pattern calls for your results will be different When substituting yarn its necessary for the subbed yarn to be the same fibre content as the pattern calls for in order to achieve the expected results Worth noting is that this yarn has a boucle type finish which is not mentioned anywhere in the description I only know because I have used it The other thing is that there is a note on the pattern that it will relax about each way after wearing so I think you will be alright after using it a few times…Read More

I tried the pattern, but it turns out leaning to one side. It looks good, but out of shape. What do I do wrong?

based on what you have written one of two things is wrong, either your "yo " is being done incorrectly or your M1 is. both of these stitches would have to be done correctly to achieve the desired effect of knotted lace. hope this helps.

I haven't knit this (yet lol!) but, I think this might help for the 3rd row: K1, M1, knit until there is one stitch remaining then M1, Knit remaining stitch.

The pattern is correct as written, the M1 occurs after the first stitch on the needle and right before the last stitch, giving a 2 stitch increase for every third row.

I am currently doing this pattern and I have no problems with it, it fact, it looks just like the picture with the knotted lace and all. It might have to do with the way you are doing your yarn overs.

I'm knitting this pattern but my results look nothing like the picture. What I'm getting is beautiful but not anything that would warrant the title...Knotted Lace.

if you're not getting the knotted lace pattern look at your M1-it has to be a true Make 1, you can't substitute any other stitch like you can in other patterns.

I think I would just increase 1 stitch...pattern is a bit goofy...usually starts with a knit row...have not tried it...may just to see if it works...

Make 1 is a common increase used in knitting, you are lifting the strand between the stitch and putting it on the needle too create a new stitch, using any other increase in this pattern will result in it not being knotted lace.

I am trying to make this...kind of new...made a couple of scarves. But, I don't know if it's the derections but I can't seem to get the same results of these holes. Wish I could see a larger picture.
