    Create a beautiful and elegant Lacy Bolster Cover with this simple lace knitting tutorial from Vickie Howell and Caron Yarns.  These lace pillow covers can easily add color and texture to your living room or bedroom.

    Lacy Bolster Covers

    Materials:

    • Vickie Howell for Caron Sheep(ish) #0017 Turquoise: 2 balls
    • One pair size U.S. 8 (5mm) knitting needles, or size to obtain gauge
    • Crochet Hook size U.S. H-8 (5mm)
    • Straight Pins
    • Bolster 21”/53.5cm long x 6”/15cm diameter
    • Yarn needle

    GAUGE:  In pattern stitch, 12 sts = 4"/10cm.


    Instructions:

    1. CO 66
       
    2. Row 1 (RS): *K3, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k3; rep from * to end.
       
    3. Rows 2, 4 and 6: Purl.
       
    4. Row 3: *K2, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, k2tog, k2; rep from * to end.
       
    5. Row 5: *K1, k2tog, yo, k5, yo, k2tog, k1; rep from * to end.
       
    6. Row 7: *K2tog, yo, k7, yo, k2tog; rep from * to end.
       
    7. Row 8: Purl.
       
    8. Rep Rows 1-8 for patt until piece measures approximately 20”/51cm from beg, ending with patt Row 8.
       
    9. BO.
       
    10. Wrap knitted cover around bolster and use straight pins to keep it in place while seaming closed.
       
    11. To make crocheted ends, join yarn at one end of bolster cover.
       
    12. Rnd 1: Ch1, sc evenly around; join with a sl st.
       
    13. Rnds 2-4: Ch 3, dc2tog around.; join with a sl st.
       
    14. Fasten off.
       
    15. Rep crocheted end for opposite end of bolster.
       
    16. Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.
