Vintage Photo Pendant
You don't have to travel back in time to create this vintage-inspired project. Vintage craft ideas can incorporate modern materials with old school ideas. Create your own Vintage Photo Pendant from Candace Jedrowicz and wear it with any outfit. It's a great keepsake and can be given as a gift for a birthday or holiday.
Materials:
- Aleene’s Decoupage – glossy
- Aleene’s Super Gel
- Glass blob
- Wire – no smaller than 20 gauge
- Printed and downsized photo – print on regular printer paper
- Paint brush
- Round nose pliers
Instructions:
-
Place the glass blob over the photo and trace around it.
-
Cut the photo out.
-
Brush Aleene’s Decoupage Glossy on the back of the glass blob.
-
Position the photo and press into the glue.
-
Immediately brush Decoupage on the back of the photo. Allow to dry.
-
Cut 6″ of wire, wrap the center around a pencil, small glue stick, or what ever you have around that would make a large enough loop to put a chain through. Wrap twice.
-
Wrap one tail of the wire into a spiral, this will glue onto the back of the glass.
-
Bend the other tail in a meander ending in a small spiral. This will glue to the front of the glass, so be sure that your wire won’t cover up anything important.
- Use a small amount of Super Gel on the wire on any parts of the wire that will lay against the glass. Hold in place for a minute, or until the bail stays in place.
