Instructions:
While I was playing with our Liquitex acrylic paints and thinking about all the cute stuffies I’ve been seeing lately, I thought about how easy it would be to make a painted stuffy. I drew out a few ideas, picked the one I liked the most, and transferred the outline to two pieces of muslin—one for the front and one for the back of what was to become my Funny Bunny Stuffy.
I started by painting the yellow and orange striped legs, then the purple head and hands. I let those colors dry, and decided on a medium blue-green color for the body/dress and livened it up with some bronze/orange and black dots. Then black/brown for the feet. The face was easy to paint with black and white paint. I added beads for the eyes, purple embroidery floss for the hair, and a little brass-colored charm for her dress.
I cut out the two pieces, and sewed them together leaving an opening on the side for stuffing. I stuffed her with soft polyfill, and sewed up the opening.
