    Mod Podge Shoes

    Materials:

    • Mod Podge ® Fabric, 8 oz.
    • Flat Closed Toe Shoes
    • Light-Weight Cotton Fabric (less than 1/2 yard)
    • Foam Paintbrush
    • Non-Stick Scissors
    • Thin Soutache Trim (enough to fit around each shoe)
    • Fabric Glue
    • Tiny Gems

    Instructions:

    1. Clean the shoes of any dirt or oils. Remove any embellishments.

    2. Cut a square of fabric to fit each shoe.

    3. To figure out the amount needed place one shoe on a piece of scrap fabric, wrap the fabric around the shoe so that it goes all the way around the sole, heel and toe. Trim the fabric to make a pattern. Add two inches to the height and width of the pattern. Use the widened pattern to cut the squares for each shoe.

    4. Apply fabric Mod Podge to the toe and down one side of the shoe.

    5. Place the fabric evenly over the shoe. Press the fabric into the Mod Podge and smooth the fabric with your finger.

    6. Use your nail to push the fabric into the seam near the sole.

    7. Continue to add Mod Podge to the shoe until you get to the back seam.

    8. Trim the edge of the fabric to match the back seam.

    9. Apply Mod Podge to the other side of the shoe.

    10. When you get to the heel, overlap the fabric over the seam, trim the edge straight and seal with Mod Podge.

    11. Remove the sealed open area of the shoe by trimming away the fabric and clipping the curves.

    12. Use Mod Podge to glue the clipped flaps to the inside of the shoe.

    13. Use fabric glue to attach rhinestones to the toe area and soutache trim to the shoe to heel seam.
