Nice idea and very inexpensive. I like the idea of cutting the slats for ribbon to flow through easy. Most things I have thought about doing would have got ribbon tangled sooner or later. This looks so much neater than just throwing ribbon in a box where you have to rummage through to find which one you want and I like to coordinate them by color. Can you use the plastic boxes too.? Has anyone tried anything different?

I made this with a clementine box. You can paint it, or leave it with the advertising for a folksy look.

VERY nice . . . I want to make something using the same concept for my jewelry wire. But for that I'll use the tube from a roll of paper towels instead of a dowel.

Great idea, also have another idea I use.you tie a thick piece of robe,strin the ribbon rolls on the robe and hook to two hooks,one at each end into your ceiling,let hang as low as you need,off the floor,out of the way but way easy use.
