Upcycled Candlesticks Using Chalk Paint
"I transformed my old, dark stained candlesticks into trendy chalk painted beauties. I saw some in a catalog and knew I could recreate the look with what I had. I used Folk Art Chalk Paint and was able to complete the project in two days, working in stages - waiting for paint to dry. I added small platforms to the top of each one so that I could use them to display fun items for each season. I love how they turned out! "

Materials List
- Candlesticks
- Folk Art Chalk Paint in White, Oatmeal, and Parisian Gray
- Pine cut into 6", 7", and 8" squares, two of each size
- Paint brushes
- Hot glue gun and glue
- sanding block
Instructions

Use hot glue to adhere pine squares on the top of each candle stick; allow to set.

Paint candlesticks with two coats of Chalk Paint; drying between coats.

Mix a small amount of the Oatmeal and Parisian Grey paints together and thin slightly with water.

Use a wet paper towel apply the thinned paint very lightly, removing any excess. Allow to dry.

Use a sanding block to remove color in small spots as desired.
NotesI plan on changing out the decorations on the candlesticks for each season. They make a fun place to display small items near our sesonal tree.
