Easy Diy Mask Chain
"I don’t know about you, but I hate wearing a mask. However, I DO wear it. I also misplace it, loose it, and constantly rush back to my car to retrieve it. So when my friend suggested I make a cute mask chain to attach to a mask and keep it from falling, I agreed this was a clever idea. It's easy to make with some lightweight beads and a little creativity. Check it out."

- 2 lobster clasps
- 2 crimp beads
- monofilament cording

- 50 seed beads
- 7 lotus shaped spacer beads
- 80 6mm glass beads

The first step in making your mask chain is to cut a piece of filament cord approximately 28 inches long. Thread the cord through a crimp bead. Then thread it through a lobster clasp and back through the crimp bead. Leave a little bit of wiggle room between the clasp and the crimp bead. With a bead crimper , flatten the crimp bead tightly around the cords. I found the video from Potomac Bead Company below helpful in explaining this process.

In selecting beads, I tried to find the lightest weight ones possible while sticking to the 6mm size. However, smaller beads can be used. After securing the clasp and crimp bead, I added 3 small seed beads. Then I followed the sequence below: 10 glass beads 3 brown seed beads lotus spacer bead 3 brown seed beads Repeat this pattern 7 times. Then add 10 more glass beads followed by 3 seed beads.

Lastly, finish the end of the necklace the same way you did on the other end, with a crimp bead and clasp.
