Student of the Week Pin
Is your child a hard working student at school? If so, make a pin to show off just how smart he or she is! Create this kids craft using wood and paint.
Materials:
DecoArt Products Required
- Americana Acrylics
- DAO1 - Snow (Titanium) White
- DAO36 - True Blue
- DAO10 - Cadmium Yellow (transparent)
- DA199 - Primary Red
- DAO1 - Snow (Titanium) White
- Americana Multi-Purpose Sealer
- DS17 - Multi-Purpose Sealer
- Unfinished wood 1" x 3/16" star, Lara's Crafts U10161
- 1/2" flat brush
- #0 liner brush
- #3 round brush
- Foam plate
- Self-adhesive pin back
- Unfinished wood 3" x 2" rectangle, Lara's Crafts V20032
Steps:
Note: Let dry after each step.
- Use round brush and Cadmium Yellow to paint star.
- Use flat brush and True Blue to paint rectangle.
- Use end of brush handle dipped in Primary Red to paint trail of dots from star.
- Use liner brush and Snow White to paint "student of the week" on rectangle.
- Apply coat of Multi-Purpose Sealer to rectangle.
- Attach pin back to center upper back area of rectangle.
Helpful Tip:
A hair dryer on low heat setting can be used to speed drying process of paint.
