Beaded Snow Postcard Quilt
Create a fun and quick postcard quilt to celebrate the beauty of winter. This quilt is embellished with ribbon scraps and beads. Use for holiday decor.
Materials:
- Snowflake fabric, blue coordinating fabric, White backer fabric
- White seam binding
- Ribbon scraps
- #16 Braid in 032 Pearl
- #8 Braid in 014 Sky Blue
- 4x6 Treasure Tape Sheets (you'll need two)
- 1/4" Treasure Trim
- Diamond Beadlets
- Scissors, iron, ziplock bag or tray
Instructions:
-
Use one Treasure Tape sheet as your postcard base. Using that shape as a guide, begin cutting your fabric into top and bottom pieces. Cut a white piece of fabric to cover the entire back of your postcard.
-
Peel the white liner off the tape. Begin placing your cut fabric pieces on the tape, smoothing them with your fingers to adhere. Then peel off the red liner and attach your backing fabric. When your entire piece of tape is covered, trim any edges or stray threads.
-
Cut wavy pieces of tape from your second Treasure Tape sheet. Peel back the white liner and arrange them on the front of your postcard. Peel back the red liner one strip at a time and begin embellishing with your Braids and ribbon.
-
Cover the edges of your design with tape that is slightly narrower than your binding. Peel back the liner a section at a time and finish the edges with sections of binding.
- When finished, place your design in a shallow tray or ziplock bag and pour Diamond Beadlets over the remaining exposed tape. Swirl with your fingers to cover fully and tap to remove excess beadlets.
Note:
- Use an iron to press the design for an even stronger bond.
