Repurposed Map Ornaments
"I love to repurpose and upcycle old road maps. They are normally really easy to find in thrift stores or elderly relatives normally have an unwanted stash. I cut circles from old road maps and made colorful spheres from them. To this, I added a homemade beaded tassel to make a gorgeous hanging map ornament. These ornaments look lovely hanging together the vintage paper and ink give them a lovely retro look. You can also personalize them by using maps of places that are special to you."

If you enjoyed making the Repurposed Map Ornaments, you'll love these other Christmas craft projects that incorporate upcycling and personalization:
1. Fabric Scrap Ribbon Wreath: Save your leftover fabric scraps to create a beautiful and unique ribbon wreath for the holidays. Cut the fabric into strips and tie them around a wire wreath frame, mixing and matching colors and patterns to create a festive look. Add some embellishments like buttons, beads, or bells for extra sparkle.
2. Vintage Postcard Ornaments: If you love the retro look of the map ornaments, try making vintage postcard ornaments. Find old postcards at antique shops or online, and cut them into shapes like stars, hearts, or even Christmas trees. Add some glitter or sequins for a touch of holiday sparkle, and hang them on your tree for a nostalgic touch.
3. Memory Jar Snow Globes: Create personalized snow globes using empty glass jars and small trinkets that hold special memories for you. Fill the jars with fake snow or glitter, add in your trinkets (like tiny figurines, photos, or keepsakes), and seal the jar shut with strong adhesive. Shake up your snow globe and watch as your memories come to life in a winter wonderland scene.
These Christmas crafts will not only bring holiday cheer to your home, but also allow you to express your creativity and personal style in a meaningful way. Happy crafting!
