Grandma's Magic Crocheted Flower Pattern
Embellish afghans, sweaters, shawls and more with this Grandma's Magic Crocheted Flower Pattern. You could also use these colorful flowers to create a rug or table runner, or use them as coasters or dishcloths. This pattern is great for using up leftover yarn and you can easily create something beautiful out of all your leftover yarn scraps. Though this flower may look intricate, it's actually made using very simple crochet techniques.
Materials List
- 1 skein of yarn in the color of your choice
- Crochet hook (any size will do)
Instructions:
Works is done in only five rounds. After round two, 8 petals begins with shell stitch and it repeats to end and you can use 2 colors, once for the 1 to 2 rounds, another can be use to crochet petals rounds.

Center ring: ch 5, sl st to first ch from hook.

Round 1: To start round 1, you have to crochet ch 5, first ch 3 count as dc, other ch 2 count as ch 2. After [1 dc, ch 2]7 times, sl st to ch 3. ( include first ch 3, there should be 8 dc in the ring) Do not turn.

Round 2: ch 1 and 2 dc in next ch-2 space. ch 2 again, another 2 dc in that ch-2 space. ch 2, *2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch-2 space, ch 2 * repeat * to* across. sl st to first dc of the round.

Round 3: in this round, 8 petals of the flower begins. ch 1, sl st to next ch-2 space, ch 2 (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc shell stitch)in same ch-2 space, ch 3 again. *skip next ch-2 space and shell st in next ch-2 space, ch 3* repeat to end, sl st to first dc of the shell.

Round 4: ch 1, sl st to ch-3 space of the shell, ch 2, *shell st in ch-3 space, ch 3, sl st to next ch-3 space, ch 3 again *repeat across, sl st to first dc of the shell.

Round 5: ch 2 and sl st to next ch-3 space, * shell st in ch-3 space, in this round we add two more ch to ch 3, so its going with ch 5 now, sl st to the same place that sl st in previous round, ch 5 again* repeat this across, sl st to first dc of the shell st.
