Flower and Lace Fold Back Card
This fold-back card is a thoughtful way to show someone you're thinking of them. With some lace, ribbon and beads you can create this work of art. Write a meaningful message inside, and your loved one will save this on their desk or dresser as a heartfelt decoration.
Materials:
- An 8.5 x 11 inch piece of card
- Some lace
- A sheet of cream card
- Top Score board & Scoring Tool
- Any vintage style papers
- Some gold card
- Cream coloured organza ribbon & string pearl beads
- Glitter glue
- Large flower stamp by Magenta (09-222-N)
- Stazon ink pads in Forest Green & Cherry Pink
- Tim Holtz distress ink pads in walnut stain & Worn Lipstick
- A piece of Cut’n’Dry foam
- 3D foam pads
- Double sided tape
Step 1
Place one of the short edges of the card against the Top Score and score along the lines that read ½ fold US letter and Gatefold US letter. Fold the card in half on the central score line then fold the other line back on itself.
Step 2
Cut two pieces of vintage style paper to fit the front part and the inner part of the card. Before sticking them into place, colour all the edges using Tim Holtz walnut stain and Worn Lipstick inks, applied with some Cut’n’Dry foam.
Step 3
Place the front edge of the card against the scalloped edge on the Top Score and score this line all the way along. Cut the edge away with a pair of scissors. Stick some lace onto the back of this decorative edge using double sided tape. You will need to glue a strip of extra card over the top of the lace to hold it in place securely. Add a line of iridescent glitter glue along the edge as a finishing touch.
Step 4
Take a piece of cream coloured card and stamp the flower onto it using the green Stazon pad. Cut this into a square and colour the edges of the square using the walnut stain ink pad with a piece of Cut’n’Dry foam. Mat it onto a piece of gold card. Stamp the flower two more times onto the same type of card, using the Cherry Pink Stazon.
Step 5
Cut out one of the flowers in its entirety, apart from the leaves. Cut it out again leaving off a few of the outer petals.
Step 6
Decoupage these two pieces over the top of the main flower image to create a 3D design. Put some glue onto one half of the flower design and mat it onto the top of the card in a diamond shape.
Step 7
As a finishing touch, make a bow using Organza ribbon, lace and some string pearls. Stick this to the bottom of the diamond.
