Painted Bookmark for Mom
For any mother who loves to read, a painted "Mom" bookmark makes a wonderful gift for Mother's Day or anytime.
Materials:
DecoArt Products Required
Paper Effects
- PE01 - Clear
- PE02 - White Pearl
Supplies
- any medium sized round or flat brush
- glue
- decorative tissue papers or stickers
- assorted decorative yarns or ribbons
- round hole punch
- assorted watercolor paints
- water container
- paper towels
- palette or plastic plate
- scissors
- ruler
- pencil
- watercolor paper
- various solid color decorative papers
Instructions:
- Cut piece of watercolor paper approximately 2 1/4" x 7".
- Paint as desired with watercolor paints. Let dry.
- Cut 2 separate pieces of decorative paper approximately 1 1/2" x 3 1/4" and 1" x 2 3/4".
- Glue decorative papers onto center on watercolor paper with smallest piece on top.
- Tint decorative papers with watercolor as desired.
- Cut designs out of decorative tissue papers and glue to bookmark (or apply decorative stickers) as desired.
- Cover tissue paper designs with Clear Paper Effects.
- Using White Pearl Paper Effects, decorate bookmark as desired. Let dry.
- Using hole punch, create hole at end of bookmark; tie decorative ribbon or yarn through hole to finish off.

very nice bookmark... quite unique. I make mine of cross stitch... with a simple lace around it... Hope I learn how to upload it and show it to my Fave Crafts friends!

I love making bookmarks, and I think this one is very pretty! Normally I just paint my designs on the watercolor paper in either acrylics or watercolors, but I love the look of this one and the way this is embellished a bit more! Very cute! Laura Thykeson http://thealteredbooknook.com/index.html
