Reader Tip for Using Left Over Yarn
How to use left over yarn:
I collect the snippets in a plastic grocery bag, and when I have enough, I use it for pillow fill. With left overs from projects I make "Green" afghans, lap rugs and pillows. The colors and weights dont always match but people seem to like them because they have such an unusual look and they are Green.
I also use smaller amounts of left overs to make buttons for tying quilts, thus combining two of my crafts.

I put them on the hedgerow in early spring, and enjoy watching the birds take them to their nest. We have very pretty birds' nests here. I make sure they are only about three inches long so the babies won't get tangled. We have done it for over twenty years, and seems there are the same families that come back each year.

I save the small balls I have left, when I have a good number of them, I wrap them by connecting the ends from smallest to largest and make a small rug or table runner...it definitely is colorful!
