Pink Flamingo Dishcloth

My name is Shama Dawson. I'm a 43 year old wife and homeschool mom of two sons, 18 and 15.  I began knitting in 2002 when I saw a free pattern for a Harry Potter scarf in a department store.  I decided that my boys needed these scarves.  I began the process of buying books and teaching myself to knit.  I've been addicted ever since.  I'm a pattern follower.  I had never designed a pattern of any kind until two years ago.

I have loved flamingoes since I was a very young child.  I had decided I wanted to knit a flamingo dishcloth.  After I did an online search for flamingo patterns there were none to be found.  So I decided it was time to try my hand at designing!!  It wasn't as hard as I'd thought and it was very rewarding!! I sat on that design for two years before I decided to put it up on my blog.  There will be more designing in my future!!

@bethsullivan10 4645135, Thanks for bringing this to our attention; we have updated the pattern! --Editor of FaveCrafts

This pattern still needs to be corrected. Row 30 should read: 4B, P12, K10, P10, 4B Row 51 should read: 4B, K9, P6, K17, 4B

Hi all, The updates have been made to the pattern according to the blogger's changes and it should be correct now. Thanks! -Editors of FaveCrafts

If you go to the designer's blog she has corrected the errors in the pattern. http://homeschoolknitmom.blogspot.com/

On Nov 2009 Member 14523 contacted designer to correct the mistakes to row 26,27,28. I find row 29 to be correct at 40. It would really be helpful to get this pattern corrected. No one can use it unless it is correct. It is an adorable pattern and I would love to make it since I just learned how to knit 3 crosses similar to this way of knitting. I want to tackel this. Does anyone know how to contact this lady to get this corrected?

I have also tried to knit this dishcloth and found the errors in the pattern. Row 26 & 27 have 41 stiches and row 28 has 42. Could corrections be printed. thanks

Shama: I would be interested in the Harry Potter knitting pattern you discussed above. I have been looking for one for years for the Griffindor scarf for burgundy and yellow yarn. You can email me at: jgfoster53@yahoo.com. My son has wanted one of these for years. Thank you. I can't wait to do one of your flamingo washclothes. Jackie Foster

I made the above dishcloth by subtracting the xtra stitches from the middle purling or knitting number listed. However on row 28 as it is written now it shows 42 stitches not 40. Since I am trying to work this up as a christmas gift it would be helpful if the designer would please correct it, so I don't have to guess where the corrections are. Thanks.

Thanks for the comment Jo Ann. Our readers really are the best editors! I contacted the designer to review.

Hello, I have been trying to knit this dishcloth but have found four errors in the pattern I believe. I am an experienced knitter and have determined that rows 26,27,28,29 have 41 stitches instead of the 40 we were told to cast on. Can you help me determine if I'm incorrect or can you make corrections on the pattern. I am new to this site and appreciate your help. Have a great day. Jo Ann
