I need some smart cookie to come up with a way to keep the bobbins and the matching reel of thread together. I have many colours that are so alike I need to take them into the daylight to see if its dark navy blue, dark green or black. Any ideas? At the moment I cut a piece of pipe cleaner and bend it over but its a bit unruly to say the least.

I use empty prescription bottles to hold bobbins and other small items such as safety pins and other notions. They are see thru and you can be certain the lid won't come off unexpectedly.

I store my bobbins on a skewer. They fit perfectly inside a cigar box and I can store up to 100 bobbins !

I store my bobbins in empty, clean tempura paint jars. They can hold three bobbins and because they are clear it's easy to see what colors you have in each container.
