Lovely Heart Tag
Using paints, cardstock and handmade papers you can have this lovely heart tag. It's a quick and easy papercraft that you can attach to any gift. This would be great for a baby shower or a special occasion.
Materials:
- STYROFOAM* Brand Foam:
- Heart, 3" x 1/2"
- Card stock alphabet sheet or alphabet stickers
- Handmade papers: lavender mulberry; sage green basket-weave
- Acrylic paints: pink; purple; beige; off-white
- Smooth Finish™ Paint for STYROFOAM
- Manila tag, 4-1/4" x 9"
- Medium flat paintbrush
- Textured fibers: pink; ivory
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Cosmetic sponge
- Disposable palette
- Water basin
- Paper towels
- Baking parchment paper
- Scissors
- Adhesives: craft-foam glue; glue stick
Steps:
1. Follow manufacturer's instructions to apply thin, even coat of Foam Finish to foam heart. Let dry on parchment paper.
2. Paint heart beige; let dry. Paint top of heart pink and heart edges off-white; let dry.
3. Trace heart onto basket-weave paper; cut out. Use glue stick to adhere paper to heart; trim excess. Use brush handle to paint alternating off-white and purple dots inside squares; let dry.
4. Cut 3-1/2" x 8" wedge from mulberry paper and glue to tag. Cut same-size wedge from basket-weave paper and glue over mulberry paper as shown.
5. Use stickers or cut-out letters to spell "LOVE" across bottom of tag, about 2" above bottom edge. Tear lower inch from assembled tag.
6. Glue foam heart to tag. Use sponge to dab pink and off-white paint randomly around tag edges; let dry.
7. Cut several 15" lengths from various fibers. Gather fibers together, loop through hole at top of tag and knot ends.
