Urban Crafted Gift Card
Personalize your next gift with this homemade gift tag that is beautifully made with iron-on thread and metallic paper.
Materials:
- Blank 5.5" square card (Foundations Paper Inc.)
- Silver plaid paper (Die Cuts with a View Specialty Mat Stacks)
- Silver metallic paper
- The City paper (Far & Away Scrapbooks)
- Silver Eyelet Letters (Making Memories)
- Kreinik Iron-On Thread: #8 Braid 6020 Silver
- Kreinik Iron-on Thread: 1/8" Ribbon 6040 Cast Iron
- Glue stick, scissors, Iron, teflon presscloth
Steps:
- Turn your iron onto the highest heat setting and let it heat thoroughly.
- Cut your City paper to fit your card. Cut one 2" x 2" square of plaid paper. Cut a 1" scalloped strip of silver metallic paper the same height as your card.
- Begin attaching your pieces to your card. Position the City paper, scallop strip, and plaid square and glue them in place.
- Using your iron, edge your City paper with Cast Iron ribbon: lay the end of your thread, cover with the Teflon Press Cloth, and press for several seconds until the thread adheres. String your letters in order onto your Silver braid. Iron down one end of the braid on your design; slide one letter at a time into position and iron it down, so that they "hang" on the braid. When finished, continue embellishing your design with the braid.
