Papier Mache Continued: Great Ideas for Papier Mache
With different molds, you can create a variety of papier-mache items.
Balloons- Use a balloon to create a papier mache globe, a face (complete with felt, yarn, or construction paper hair), an animal’s body (how about a pig?), bowls, and more!
Wire Netting- Wire netting can be molded into just about any shape and then covered with papier mache. Since the netting can be quite sharp, this is really not suitable for using with children.
Styrofoam or Polystyrene – Packing material can be cut to any shape and covered in masking tape before doing papier-mache.
Plastic Milk Jug- A milk jug is the perfect mold for a mask. Cut the jug in half from top to bottom. The handle of the jug can serve as the nose. Use a craft knife to cut eyeholes.
Plastic Bottle- Turn a soda bottle into a volcano for a school project. Cut off the top and glue it in the center of a piece of poster board. Use masking tape or duct tape to make strips coming from the top of the bottle down to the poster board. For a sturdier construction, pile newspaper underneath the tape around the bottle. For an erupting volcano, fill the plastic bottle with baking soda. When you are ready to erupt, pour some vinegar (with food coloring?) into the bottle and stand back!

I am looking for plastic molds so I can mix my own paper mache mix and put it into a mold or on the outside of the mold however it works.
