Materials:
- Fabric
- String
- Catnip
- Poly-fil
- Felt
Instructions:
- Cut your fabric pieces 2-1/2 inches by 2-1/2 inches. Fold them in half wrong sides together. Be sure wrong sides are together.
- Cut your strings 4-1/2 inches long.
- Go to your sewing machine and sew up one side and the top. Find the center at the top and tuck your string inside, leave a little bit sticking out so you can sew over it.
- Still with wrong sides together, fold the open side about 1/4 of an inch. Iron hem so it will leave a crease. You will need the crease when you hand sew it closed.
- Fill with catnip and some poly-fil, then hand sew the opening closed.
- To hand sew the opening closed, start by going up under the hem that’s folded down, coming out right on the seam line.
- Pull your needle through.
- Then come over to the other side and put your needle through where the hem crease is.
- Pull your needle through.
- Then go to the other side and put your needle through, right where the crease is. Continue doing this until you reached the end.
- Cut a small piece of felt for the peice that goes on the end of the string. Go to your sewing machine and sew it on. Giving it a couple of stitches. Don’t forget to backstitch!
