IKEA Inspired Painted Flower Vase
This IKEA Inspired Painted Flower Vase from Jessica Hill is perfect for fall! The colors are easily customizable if you want to change them. This is an easy painting technique that you can do on ceramic flower vases, as well as many other things!
Materials:
- Paint in various colors
- Lamp or vase base
- Adhesive stencil
- Glass Etched medium
- Clear protective sealant
Instructions:
- Stir paint and mix colors to achieve an ombre palette spanning from purplish-red to verdant green.
- I bought a pack of four small adhesive stencils on clearance at Hobby Lobby a while back, and the striped stencil fit perfectly on the side of the lamp.
- I applied the paints that I had mixed with a bit of Martha Stewart glass etched medium, gradually moving from one color to the next.
- Before the paints completely dried, I carefully pulled up the stencil. I repeated the same process, with different colors, on each of the lamp’s four sides. When the lamp was painted, I sprayed a clear protective coat of sealant over the whole thing.

Really liked this project. But before I make it I have a question? Did you say that you poured paint into the etching cream and then applied to vase and it came out the color? Or do you etch the vase first and then paint it? Thanks for your help...God Bless!
