Colorful Wall Art
Create a vibrant piece of wall art. This colorful bistro looks amazing hung on your wall. In only four quick and easy steps you can turn scrapbook paper, ribbon and brand foam sheets into wall art that looks like you bought it.
Materials:
- STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam:
- Three 1" x 12" x 36" sheets
- Ribbon, 1" x 8-1/8 yds.
- Scrapbook paper: 12" x 12", nine sheets (heavier weight)
- Thick, white craft glue
- Putty knife
- Straight pins (optional)
- Sawtooth picture hangers, three, or poster putty
Instructions:
- Arrange scrapbook papers on foam sheet; try different arrangements till satisfied with design. Spread white craft glue on 1/3 of foam sheet; center 12" x 12" paper over glue and adhere. Repeat until all foam sheets are covered. If necessary, pin corners till glue dries. (Hint: Papers might appear wavy at first, and will smooth out as the glue dries.)
- Cut ribbon into three equal lengths. Pin or glue ribbon around edges of foam sheet, overlapping ends. (Hint: STYROFOAM™ brand foam is very forgiving. If the paper square does not exactly meet the edges of the foam sheet, run the edge of the foam square along a tabletop, compressing the foam.)
- Use level and poster adhesive to secure squares to wall as shown. Or, glue sawtooth picture hanger to back. For additional hold, insert and glue two straight pins through holes in sawtooth picture hanger.
- Let dry before handling.
