Materials List

  • Computer paper or cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Pen (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start with a square piece of paper. If your paper is rectangular, cut it down to a square shape.

  2. Fold diagonally so you wind up with a triangle.

  3. Take the bottom left point of your isosceles triangle and fold along the upper righthand side as shown.

  4. Flip the paper over, and repeat this step on the other side, lining up the folds as well as possible. The goal is a symmetrical snowflake!

  5. Fold the whole shape in half along the middle, lining up the points.

  6. (Optional): Draw cutouts with pen and mark X's where the paper will fall away.

  7. Cut out the areas you marked in pen, or if you didn't do this step, simply eyeball and cut the shapes! The great thing is you don't really know what your snowflakes will look like until you open them up.
