Paper Sun Catcher
Paper Sun Catcher by S. Lowe
Cut a piece of black construction paper into a a large circle. Trace a scene or several shapes into the paper with a pencil. Using a craft knife, cut out the scene, leaving the outlines of objects. Using many pieces of colored tissue paper, glue small pieces of tissue paper to the back of the construction paper. This work best with lots of colors. Hang in the window to catch the sun!

Maybe if you cut your design into two pieces of black paper, then after you glue on your tissue paper, you can glue on the back piece so it will look nice from either side.

The sun catcher idea can be a very creative one - especially using an outline graphic to make a design. Have you considered using some kind of coating on the sun catcher to keep the tissue paper from fading in the sun?
