Baby Bear Onesie
Dye a onesie with Tulip One-Step Fashion Dyes, apply an adorable Tulip Baby Couture Iron-On Applique and glue felt accents with Aleene's Fabric Fusion to a headband to make a beary, beary cute outfit! Great for little boys and girls alike, this adorable onesie is a great way to welcome your little one home. Easy to make and even more fun to give, this DIY baby onesie is sure to please little baby and parents alike!
Materials:
- Aleene's® Fabric Fusion™ Permanent Dry Cleanable Fabric Adhesive™
- Tulip® One-Step Fashion Dyes™ in Black
- Tulip® Baby Couture™ Iron-On Applique™ - Bear Skull
- Iron/ Ironing board
- Trash bags
- Felt, black stiff
- Felt, brown
- Onesie, white
- Headband, black
- Pom Pom, large light brown
- Tailor’s chalk
- Scissors
Instructions:
1. Prewash onesie to remove sizing. Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets.
2. Cover work surface with trash bags. Lay onesie on prepared surface.
3. Wearing rubber gloves, add water to dye bottle. Replace cap tightly. Shake until dye is dissolved.
4. Dye onesie solid black.
5. Cover onesie with trash bag. Let sit 4-6 hours. Wash in a large load of water with a small amount of laundry soap. Line dry.
6. Place appliqué on front at top middle. Iron following directions on back of packaging.
7. Squeeze a dot of glue on one side of pom pom and place pom pom on back of onesie. Refer to enlarged photo.
8. Place large ear pattern on black stiff felt. Trace around pattern twice with chalk and cut out.
9. Place small pattern on brown felt. Trace around pattern twice and cut out.
10. Apply glue on one side of black pieces. Squeeze ear over headband. Repeat for other ear.
11. On front of ears, glue brown felt matching up bottom edges. Refer to photo.
