Tissue Paper Collage Angel Canvas
Decorate your space with a pretty and simple-to-create Tissue Paper Collage Angel Canvas from Tiffany Windsor. Use the reverse collage tissue painting technique to complete this project. This project shows that collage craft ideas can be elegant but so much fun.
Materials:
- Aleene’s Decoupage – Matte
- Aleene’s Tack It Over & Over Glue
- Soft brush
- Frame with glass
- Paper towels and glass cleaner
- Tissue paper – assorted colors
- Craft foil – gold (or color of your choice)
- Pattern of your choice
- Craft sticks (6)
- Masking tape
- Scissors
Instructions:
-
Remove glass from frame and clean to remove all smudges and finger prints.
-
Lay glass over pattern.
-
Trace over pattern line with Aleene’s Tack It Over & Over Glue. Set aside to dry overnight or until glue is clear. Note: the glue will remain sticky even after it has dried.
-
To transfer foil, gently place it over glue lines and lift. The foil will stick to the glue. Repeat until all glue is covered with foil. Because of the dimension of the glue, be sure you press foil into sides of glue lines too.
-
For the next steps, you will need to raise the glass off the work surface. Tape 3 craft sticks together with masking tape. Repeat to make two stacks. Lay stacks on worksurface and place glass, foil side down onto craft sticks. This will keep the foil from touching your work surface while you apply the tissue.
-
Tear tissue into small pieces.
-
Working one area at a time, brush Aleene’s Decoupage onto back of glass following pattern line. Lay torn pieces of tissue into Decoupage. Overlap pieces for interesting color variation. Repeat until entire design is covered with colored tissue.
-
Repeat tissue painting for background. Let dry completely.
- Cut away any excess tissue along edge of glass.
