Whimsy: an odd fancy; an idle notion; curious, quaint, or fanciful humor. I'm a mixed media artist. My purpose in life is to plant and cultivate whimsy in the world. There is simply not enough of it!

There is a comfort to be found in whimsy that surpasses even good chocolate. It's a comfort that says, "You were right all along, not only does God have a sense of humor, She enjoys sharing an occasional inside joke." It's like a mini-enlightenment that brightens the dreariest of days.

What makes art whimsical? Whimsical art is a combination of images, colors, and qualities that reach deep inside you to activate your Inner Light. When it happens, you won't be able to contain yourself; you may even be forced to chuckle. This is how I feel when I see the work of a whimsical mind, and it is what moves me to make certain choices with my own work.

I've spent the past thirty years in Maryland. For the last ten or so years I’ve been teaching art techniques and spirituality in my home studio and a variety of venues. I enjoy sharing my whimsy and muse at Cool2Craft in my official role as Creative Play muse!

I live in Utah now. It’s a paradise of possibilities! Fertile ground for whimsy farming.
