I am married and have a blended family of 5 children and 6 grandchildren. I learned to crochet at the age of 12 by a teacher at my junior high school and fell in love. With raising a family I didn’t have that much time to dedicate to crocheting, but now have rekindled a old flame. Last December I started ELK Studio – Handcrafted Crochet Designs as a way to express some of my creativity. Although I have been crocheting for over 30 years, I am new at the designing/pattern writing and have found it to be even more exciting and challenging.
I have been in the medical field as a sonographer for over 21 years and recently lived out a dream when I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelors in Business Management in May/2013.
It has truly been a rewarding experience starting this new adventure at ELK Studio with being able to engage with other fellow crafters on my blog, Facebook page, etc. I am excited about what my future looks like and watching myself and ELK Studio grow.

Hi Kathy, I' m making your houndstooth scarf and have a question. I just finished my 2nd row, and I'm supposed to pick up my first color again, but it's on the other end. How do I deal with this? Thank you!
