How to Clean Gourds for Crafts

Cleaning Gourds

Materials:

A bucket or tub
A metal scouring pad
A large absorbent rag
Weights
Rubber gloves
Plastic Apron
Rack for drying

Video:

Instructions:

Fill bucket with warm water.
Put dirty gourd(s) in water.
Soak towel with water and cover gourd with it.
Weight down the gourd with weights.
Let gourd soak for several hours.
Remove weight and towel and begin cleaning gourd with scouring pad.
Place gourd on rack to dry completely.

Wow really. Did anyone think like me that you just cut the gourd and make your project? I am so glad I came across his video so I can learn the proper way to dry and then clean them off before you use for the craft. I have always wanted to make some bird houses because I think they are neat but did not know how to start and buying them already done are very expensive. This is a very well done video. Thanks.
