Kenner, there is a link to the Chart for the star up above in the Materials section. I think you must single crochet with white for every x in the chart. Be aware that hkity notes that there is 38 stitches in the foundation chain and only 36 stitches in the chart. I would love to make it, but I am going to try the star square with some scrap yarn before I invest in this.

Can you post how to make the star? I don't see the information on how to make it.

Is it just me or....? The chart shows 36 stitches in each row and yet the foundation chain is 38. How does that work? And if the 'ch 1, turn' counts as a stitch, how do you change colors? Very confusing.....

I have seen other patterns with similar challenges and they said to use several small balls of the color rather than carrying the yarn or constantly adding on/finishing off. I would guess two blue and two white depending on what section of the star you're working. By the time I found that I gave up and crocheted stars to stitch on top because I couldn't get an answer either ("follow the chart" was NOT helpful for me).

Why does it say royal instead of dark country blue or color b? could be confusing to a beginner.

Could you explain the star alittle more in details? When i do the first step with the sc in each stitch,I come up with too many stitches than in the chart.

How do I get the star in the middle of the blue square? Do I cross stitch it in or crotchet it in?

I too need a response to the question posed by sbar on Aug 11, 2010. I have done multi-colored knitting but never attempted it in crocheting.

Hey ladies, the chart is located in the materials list under the yarn requirements. You have to click on the CHART and it will pop up.

I would love to make this, but I am not sure how to "work the chart." Can anyone tell me? Do you just tie off and add the white, then back to the blue? Makes for a lot of ends to weave in, but how else would you do it?
