Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch-1), skip 1st ch-1 space, dc in next 9 sts, * ch 1, skip next st **, dc in next 15 sts; repeat from * across, ending at
**; dc in next 9 sts, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch of turning ch; turn.
Row 3: Ch 4, skip 1st ch-1 space, dc in next 7 sts, * [ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st] 3 times **; dc in next 10 sts; repeat from * across, ending at **; dc in next 6 sts, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch; turn.
Row 4: Ch 4, skip 1st ch-1 space, dc in next 5 sts, * [ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st] twice; dc in next 2 sts, [ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st] twice **; dc in next 6 sts; repeat from * across, ending at **; dc in next 4 sts, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch; turn.

I don't know if I would categorize this crochet diamonds throw as easy- but perhaps advanced beginner. Because of the heavy use of the skipped stitches and having to count your stitches, be careful not to lose your place within the pattern. If you have a certain level of experience you probably would be able to eyeball it as you go once you got the diamond pattern to emerge. Good luck!

The project is beautiful, but the instructions can be confusing. You need to use a little intuition and pay careful attention to the diamonds as they form as occasionally you need to use a little cheating to get it to work out.

Love this pattern and I make and donate blankets and throws to the homeless shelter in my area and to the hospital in my area for the cancer ward and parents that have children in the hospital so I want to thank you for this pattern, I have made it in all sizes from baby blankets to a huge 80x80 for a veteran to have to his is bed cover that I donated and I made it in a very pretty Red and used blue and white for the border trim it turned out wonderful so thank you so much again..

Hi Harleemom...I just found this pattern it looks so exciting. The only thing is that these instructions don't say how big the finished blanket is. Do you have any idea? Also, you mention you've made it in different sizes. What is the stitch count you use to decrease or increase the pattern? Many thanks!

Hi, this looks lovely and the colours are great together. I've started but I'm stuck at the end of the 3rf row, I don't have the correct number of stitches left for the 9 dc, but I have the 74 ch1 spaces from the previous row. Anybody else have this problem? And maybe a solution? Thanks

i have 75 ch1 sp and the rows work ok. Initially i only had 73ch1 bcoz i had sk 2ch by mistake.

@joannemendonsa Great question! I'll check with Red Heart and see if they have a formula. You could also figure out how many stitches are used to create 1 pattern, or diamond, and add that number of stitches to the foundation row for every additional diamond you want. Hope that helps!
