Christmas Tissue Cozy
Crochet a Christmas Tissue Cozy to brighten up your powder rooms this Christmas! This Christmas tissue box holder is made in a super simple pattern of the most basic crochet stitches, so making these red and green cozies will be quick and fun for all levels of crochet fans. This is a great way to keep all the rooms in your home in the holiday spirit this year.
Materials:
- 1 skein Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Jockey Red
- 1 skein Red Heart Super Saver yarn in White
- 1 skein Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Paddy Green
- G crochet hook or size needed for gauge
- Tapestry needle
- Boutique tissue
Gauge: 6 dc = 2”; 2 rows = 1 ½”
Instructions:
Body

Rnd 1 – With red ch 56 and form a ring, ch 3, work 1 dc in each ch around, join to top of beg ch 3. Do not turn. (56 dcs)

Rnds 2-7 – Ch 3, work 1 dc in each dc, join to top of beg ch 3.

Rnd 8 – Continue pattern and fasten off.

Rnd 9 – Join white with a sl st in any dc, sc in same sp, work 1 sc in each dc around, join to beg sc and fasten off. (56 scs)

Rnd 10 – Join green with a sl st in any sc, ch 2, 2 dc in same st, *skip 1 sc, 3 dc in next sc, rep from * around, join to top of beg ch 2.

Rnd 11 – (Sl st, ch 2, sl st) in next st, *sl st in each of next 2 st, (sl st, ch 2, sl st) in next st, rep from * around, join to beg sl st and fasten off.

Rnd 1 – With green ch 12 and form a ring, ch 3, work 27 dc in ring, join to top of beg ch 3. Do Not Turn. (28 dcs)

Rnd 2 – Work RND in BACK st. Ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same st, *work 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next dc, rep from * around, join to top of beg ch 3 and fasten off. This forms the 4 corners.

Rnd 3 – Join white with a sl st in any ch 2 corner sp, ch 2, 4 hdc in same sp, *work 1 hdc in each of next 10 dc, 5 dc in ch 2 corner sp, rep from * around, join to top of beg ch 2 and fasten off.
Finishing
- With white yarn, whipstitch top to bottom. Make a bow with red, white and green and attach to top seam on one side.

On Rnd 3 of the Top, why are there hdc's in the first corner loop but full dc's in the remaining 3? Is it supposed to be that way or is this a typo? Thanks!

Hi there! I do think the hdc is correct. The stitches where the white is joined do look shorter than double crochets and a little puffier, which is an effect of half double crochet! I'll attach an image highlighting the area I'm looking at. Give it a try, and let me know if it turns out wonky or doesn't look right.
