Festive Christmas Cross Over Afghan

Materials:

• 1 skein Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo yarn in White
• 1 skein Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo yarn in Jockey Red
• 1 skein Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo yarn in Paddy Green
• G and H crochet hook or size needed for gauge

Gauge:  With H hook – 3 dc rows and 1 cross over row = 3"; 6 dc = 2"

Special Stitch:

• Cross Over St – skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, work a dc into skipped st and around 2 previous dcs

Instructions:
Size: (before fringe) 39” x 45”

1. Row 1 – With red ch 122, dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each of next 6 ch, *3 dc in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 6 ch, skip 2 ch, 1 dc in each of next 6 ch, rep from * across ending work 1 dc in each of last 7 dc, ch 3 and turn.
    
2. Row 2 – (Skip 1 dc, 2 dc in next dc) 3 times, *skip 1 dc, 3 dc in next dc, (skip 1 dc, 2 dc in next dc) 3 times, skip 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (skip 1 dc, 2 dc in next dc) 2 times, rep from * across ending skip 1 dc, dc in last dc, ch 3 and turn.
    
3. Row 3 – Skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, *3 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, rep from * across ending skip 1 dc, dc in last dc, fasten off, and turn.
    
4. Row 4 – (Cross Over Row) Join white with a sl st in first dc, ch 2, work 40 cross over sts. across, dc in last dc, fasten off and turn.
    
5. Row 5 – Join green with a sl st in in first dc, ch 2, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, *3 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, rep from * across ending skip 1 dc, dc in last dc, ch 3 and turn.
    
6. Row 6 – Rep Row 2.
    
7. Row 7 – Rep Row 3 and fasten off.
    
8. Row 8 – With white rep Row 4 and fasten off.

Color Pattern (59 Rows)

1. Rep Rows 5, 2, 3 – color yarn (G or R)
    
2. Row 4 – white yarn (W) as follows:  R W GW 7 times, ending 3 rows R

Edging

1. With G hook and white work along straight sc in first dc, *ch 2, sc in next dc, rep from * across and fasten off.
    
2. Rep along opposite edge. 

Fringe

1. Using 1 strand of each color, make 6” fringes and place along top and bottom.
