Stars Napkin Rings
Crochet a set of 4 patriotic napkin rings adorned with American flag stars, from Lily Sugar n' Cream. Crochet two napkin rings in navy blue and two in red for a full patriotic set. These coordinate with the striped rolling place mats for 4th of July picnics or gatherings.
Materials:
- Yarn: Lily® Sugar’n Cream® (70.9 g / 2.5 oz) Quantity for 4 Napkin Rings.
Color A - #00095 Red ½ oz [14 g]; 24 yds [22 m] or 1 ball
Color B - #00001 White ¾ oz [16 g]; 28 yds [ 25 m] or 1 ball
Color C - #00009 Bright Navy ½ oz [14 g]; 24 yds [22 m] or 1 ball
- Crochet Hook: Size 5 mm (U.S. H or 8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 13 sc and 16 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].
Instructions:
Ring (make 2 each with A and C) Ch 24. Join with sl st to form ring.
1st rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each ch around. Join with sl st in first sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in same sp as last sl st. 1 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st in first sc.
Rep 2nd rnd until work from beg measures approx 1¾ ins [4.5 cm]. Fasten off.
Star (Make 4 with B)
Base: Ch 2.
1st rnd: 10 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st in first sc.
2nd rnd: Ch 1. 2 sc in each sc around. 20 sc. Join with sl st in first sc.
First Point: *Next row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of next 4 sc. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
Next row: Ch 1. (Draw up a loop in each of next 2 sts. Yoh and draw through all loops on hook - sc2tog made) twice. Turn.
Next row: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Turn.
Next row: Ch 2. Sl st along side of Point to Base. Rep from * 4 times more. 5 Points in total. Fasten off.
Finishing: Sew in all ends. Sew one Star to each Napkin Ring.

I think I will try and find yarn with some sparkle in it for Christmas time, for gifts at my husbands christmas office party! I try to find simple & fast patterns around this time of year. I need 12-gifts. I think this would be great! Thanks!!!
