Perfectly Painted Pillows
Add a touch of spring to your home with these Perfectly Painted Pillows. Great for tossing on your bed or couch, these stenciled DIY throw pillows are quick and easy to make and are sure to add a splash of color to your decor. Mix and match stencils to create your own unique pillows and create an amazing (and comfortable) pillow arrangement for your living room or bedroom.
Materials:
Autumn Dahlias Pillow
- Tulip® Pillow Cover Tan 12” x 16”
- Tulip® DIY Design Template - Medium Dahlia
- Tulip® Soft® Fabric Paint in the following colors: Coral, Lime, Blueberry, Gold
- Tulip® DIY Textile Paint Roller
- Tulip® DIY Stencil Adhesive Spray
- Disposable plastic table cover
- Chalk
- Paper plate for paint palette
Perfectly Perched Throw Pillow
- Tulip® Pillow Cover Tan 16” x 16”
- Tulip® DIY Design Templates
- Medium Bird Branch - Large Lattice
- Tulip® DIY Textile Paint in the following colors: Coral, Avocado
- Tulip® DIY Textile Paint Roller
- Tulip® DIY Stencil Adhesive Spray
- Waxed paper
- Disposable plate
Instructions:
Autumn Dahlias Pillow
- Plan position of stencils for 4 overlapping dahlia designs. Mark with chalk for placement.
- Lightly spray Stencil Adhesive Spray on dull side of stencil. Place stencil, shiny side up, onto surface in first position and hand press in place.
- Pour a puddle of Lime on paper plate and load paint onto roller. Apply one light coat for a transparent look; two light coats for more opacity.
- Carefully remove stencil to reveal design. Let dry.
- Repeat process in Gold, Coral and Blueberry, overlapping designs.
- Clean up with mild soap and water; reuse as desired.
Perfectly Perched Throw Pillow
- Place waxed paper inside pillow cover to resist paint from seeping to back side of pillow.
- Plan position of Lattice stencil, using centering guide arrows as needed.
- Lightly spray Stencil Adhesive Spray on dull side of stencil. Place stencil, shiny side up, onto pillow cover and hand press in place.
- Pour a puddle of Avocado paint on disposable plate and load paint onto paint roller. Apply one light coat over stencil for a transparent look; two light coats for more opacity.
- Let set for 1-2 minutes.
- Carefully remove stencil to reveal design.
- Let dry completely. Clean up roller and stencils with mild soap and water.
- Repeat steps for Bird Branch stencil, using Coral paint.
- Clean up roller and stencils with mild soap and water.
