Personalized Glitter Rocks
Make art with rocks from your garden or front lawn. Think outside the box and make Personalized Glitter Rocks from Savannah Starr. The more colorful the rock, the better. Use the finished product as a doorstop, paper weight or decorative piece on a mantel.
Materials:
- Scissors (or alphabet die)
- Glitter (colors of your choice)
- Aleene’s Tacky Double Stick Sheets
- Paper plate
- Very soft large paintbrush
Instructions:
-
Wipe your rock completely clean and be certain that there is no dust remaining on the rock as this can interfere with the Tacky Double Stick Sheets adhering to the rock. Cut lettering from Tacky Double Stick Sheets. If using a die cut machine, cut the Sheets to pieces slightly larger than your letters and place shiny side down on the die. Peel paper backing from letters and place onto rock. Press firmly around the edges of each letter to adhere to the rock.
-
Lift remaining paper backing to reveal adhesive. If needed, use straight pin to help remove paper backing.
-
Place rock onto paper plate or other surface to catch excess glitter. Sprinkle adhesive with glitter.
-
Gently press glitter into adhesive.
-
Use brush to gently wipe away excess glitter.
-
Continue brushing until all of the lettering is revealed. Return excess glitter to container.
